AesPlla: The Gradual, Collagen-Stimulating Approach to Facial Rejuvenation

The direction of modern aesthetics is changing. Many clients still want to look fresher and more balanced, but they do not want to look noticeably “filled”. AesPlla offers a different approach: instead of relying only on instant volume, it works gradually by supporting the skin’s own collagen production.

At Look Aesthetics, AesPlla is considered as part of a personalised plan. It will not suit every face or every concern, and it is not a replacement for every other injectable treatment.

What is AesPlla?

AesPlla is an injectable treatment based on poly-L-lactic acid, usually shortened to PLLA. PLLA is a biocompatible and biodegradable material used in aesthetics as a collagen stimulator.

Once placed appropriately, the treatment encourages a gradual collagen response. This can help support areas affected by age-related collagen loss and changes in facial volume. The product is broken down by the body over time, while the collagen response develops more slowly.

How is AesPlla different from hyaluronic-acid filler?

Traditional hyaluronic-acid dermal filler can give an immediate and precisely placed change. It remains very useful for treatments such as natural lip enhancement, non-surgical nose contouring, chin definition and carefully planned facial balancing.

AesPlla has a different role. It is chosen when a gradual, more diffuse improvement in support and volume is wanted. The final result is not judged immediately after treatment because early fullness can be influenced by the fluid used during preparation. The longer-term change develops as collagen production responds.

What concerns may be discussed?

Depending on your assessment, AesPlla may be considered when the concerns include:

  • gradual loss of facial volume and support;
  • changes associated with declining collagen;
  • a preference for progressive, natural-looking rejuvenation;
  • a wish to improve overall facial balance without relying entirely on traditional filler.

It is not normally selected for every area or for every type of correction. Where a small, exact adjustment is required, a hyaluronic-acid filler or another treatment may be more appropriate.

When will I see a result?

AesPlla is not an instant-result treatment. Changes usually develop gradually over the weeks and months following treatment as the collagen response progresses. This makes it especially appealing to clients who prefer their results to appear slowly and discreetly.

Results differ from person to person. Your age, starting tissue quality, treatment plan and individual biological response can all influence the outcome and longevity.

Will I need a course?

AesPlla is commonly planned as a course rather than a single one-off appointment. The number of sessions and the spacing between them are personalised after consultation. More product is not automatically better; the aim is to use the right treatment, in the right areas, at the right time.

Can AesPlla be combined with other treatments?

Yes, when appropriate. AesPlla may form one part of a wider plan that also considers skin boosters, polynucleotides, microneedling, chemical peels, Profhilo, Profhilo Structura, anti-wrinkle treatment or small amounts of dermal filler.

Combining treatments does not mean doing everything at once. A staged plan often makes it easier to protect natural facial character and assess each improvement carefully.

What are the possible side effects?

Temporary redness, tenderness, swelling and bruising can occur after injectable treatment. PLLA treatments also carry less common risks, including lumps or nodules, which is why product preparation, placement, aftercare and practitioner training matter. Your medical history, suitability, expected recovery and potential risks will be discussed before treatment.

Is AesPlla right for me?

A consultation is the best starting point. We will look at the face as a whole, discuss what is bothering you and explain whether AesPlla, a different collagen-stimulating treatment, conventional filler or a skin-quality treatment would better match your goals.
